Zut! by Elsa Schiaparelli - This fresh fruity oriental fragrance was first launched in 1949 by perfumer Nathalie Feishauer of Givaudan-Roure. Fragrance notes include bergamot, black currant, cyclamen, marigold, ylang-ylang, linden flower, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, orris, tonka bean, incense, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood and musk. The Zut! perfume bottle depicts a woman's torso from the waist downwards with a star-studded skirt around her ankles, leaving her wearing only her underwear and a taffeta ribbon belt, and packaged in a be-ribboned box in an unusual shade, that became known as Vert Zut. Zut! (meaning "Damn" in French) was re-launched in 1997. Advertising illustration created by artist Marcel Vertes.
